Your memories stay with you
Momento is an offline video guest book for events. You can create events, record guest messages and watch saved videos without an internet connection. Momento does not operate a server for your recordings. We do not automatically upload, sell or share your videos, guest details or security answers. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking.
What is stored on this device
Momento stores the event details and background photos you choose, guest names, recorded video and audio, recording dates and durations, and information needed to organize and recover saved recordings. Camera preferences are also saved locally so your chosen settings can be reused. Accepted videos and backgrounds are kept in the app's private storage. Event and recording details are kept in a local database. Guest names identify messages within an event; no online account is created.
Administrator security and recovery
The administrator chooses a four-digit PIN and two recovery questions. Momento stores the selected questions and salted security verifiers using the device's secure storage. It does not save the PIN, answers or recovery code as readable text. Forgotten-PIN recovery requires both answers and the separately saved recovery code. We cannot retrieve or remotely reset these secrets. The PIN controls access inside the app; it does not separately encrypt your video files. Protect the device with its own passcode and keep your recovery code private.
Permissions are requested when needed
Camera and microphone access are requested when a guest enters the recording flow. A system picker lets the administrator choose an event background. Photos or Gallery add access is used only for an administrator's export; older Android versions may ask for storage write access. Files and USB export use the system folder picker and only the location you choose. Declining a permission prevents the related action. Agreement to this policy does not grant camera, microphone or storage permission.
Exporting and sharing are your choice
Only an administrator can start an export or sharing action. You can copy videos to Photos or Gallery, select a folder in Files or on a supported connected drive, or choose another app in the system share sheet. Availability depends on your device and its storage providers. Exported copies leave Momento's private storage. Photos synchronization, cloud file providers, messaging services and receiving apps may upload or share those copies according to their own settings and policies. Momento does not control them. Select a local folder or USB drive if you want the exported copy to remain offline.
Keeping and deleting recordings
Private recordings remain on this device until the administrator deletes them or the app's data is removed. Deleting a recording in Momento does not remove copies previously exported or shared. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, device loss or storage failure can permanently remove unexported videos. Export important memories and check the copies before deleting originals. Device backups and transfers are controlled by the operating system and your settings; Momento does not provide a cloud backup or guarantee recovery.
Guest choice and event responsibility
The event organizer controls this device and the recordings made at their event. Before recording, guests should understand that the organizer can watch, export, share or delete their message. Recording is optional. Ask the organizer about consent, requests to view or delete a message, and use of children's recordings. Organizers are responsible for obtaining any consent required for their event and for handling exported copies respectfully.
Your choices and policy updates
You may decline this policy and leave setup without enabling recording. You can review this policy later using Privacy Policy on the welcome or PIN login screen, change device permissions in system settings, and ask the administrator to delete a private recording. Updated policy versions are shown for agreement before continuing. The policy version and agreement date are stored only on this device.

This website & support
This website is separate from the offline Momento app. It does not access your recordings, camera, microphone or app database. We have not added analytics, advertising trackers, a contact-form database or marketing cookies.
The hosting provider may process connection information, such as your IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the website. Hosting is not the same as storing your app recordings. If hosted on Vercel, see Vercel’s privacy policy for its practices.
If you contact support by email or phone, you choose to share your contact information and the details in your message with the recipient and communication providers. We use that information to respond and handle your request. Do not send sensitive recordings or access credentials. Contact us about access or deletion of support correspondence; information may need to be retained for unresolved requests or applicable obligations.
